Due to OSCE Exam and Registration processes have been delayed, the candidates were in big trouble. So the NMC decided to extend the validity of OET to 6 more months.

The NMC decided to give an exception to whoever is planning to migrate to the UK from any majority English speaking countries like Ireland, New Zealand and Trinidad. As the registered practice is currently active in these countries the CBT validity will be extended to 6 months. Those score from May 1st 2021 to August is going to expire will be the beneficiaries.

A repeated complaint received against the availability of the OET Exam date in exam centres. So as a solution, NMC allowed having an OET at Home Certificate and attend the exam from home itself from 10th October 2020 accepted by NMC.

OSCE exam centres in the UK was closed for a long time. But from last July three exam centres are open for exams and the travel for OSCE exam considered as essential by the UK Government.

The candidates were under pressure and stress of IELTS, OET & CBT score expiry. So, no need to worry, the date has been extended. For those who arrived in the UK, NMC provided enough time to apply for OSCE/ Registration Process. If IELTS, OET & CBT expires from March 24, 2020, to August 21, 2021, 6 more months from the expiry date is granted.

The Health and social care system of the UK is dependents upon healthcare professionals from around the world. NMC website explains this exception as a helping hand to people during the pandemic. Also added to continue working as part of the battle against Covid 19. English language proficiency is important in effective patient care. The concession is only valid till August 21, 2021. So be prepared by then. People living in the UK is coming back to normal. They need more healthcare professionals and nurses. Once India is removed from the red list, all the recruitment process will resume.

The second one is to get a job as Care Assistant in any nursing home, then pass OET, and become a Nurse. Both options are beneficial to nurses. If you come through an NHS hospital, all the costs will be covered by them. In simple words, free of cost. But it's not in the case of a Private Hospital. They won't take all of your costs. You will have to meet the expenses of hotel quarantine.
